This year Pennine Socks, a company established back in 1850 marks it’s 170th anniversary. The sock maker, now based in Nottingham, supplies shooting socks right across the UK to stockists selling premium country clothing and sporting goods.
Pennine makes all of their socks from premium materials including pure cotton and merino wool with expert seamstresses putting together the final designs and finishes to each sock. Starting in 1850, Pennine Socks began by selling socks at the local market with the business taking off to new heights of supplying the British military during war, right up to 2003. In recent years, the company has shifted focus on recreational shooting, supplying the traditional shooting socks worn to keep feet warm and dry during a day’s hunt.
Most recently, Pennine Socks has opened up their eCommerce website to the public, having previously been for trade only. Meaning consumers can now buy shooting socks directly online.
